Beginning in 2007, Anne Swartz, Professor of Art History, Savannah College of Art and Design, organized the first TFAP Day of Panels and performances for the CAA conference in NYC. Since then, the TFAP@CAA program has become a staple in the CAA conference itinerary and is scheduled through 2014.
| The Feminist Art Project wishes to thank Anne Swartz for creating the annual TFAP@CAA Day of Panels and serving as Project Coordinator 2007-2011. Through Anne's efforts, the art world, the CAA and WCA communities, and emerging professionals gained access to cutting edge work and ideas of artists, curators, performers and scholars, up close and through a feminist lens. Anne contributed many planning hours, acting as the liaison between TFAP and panel chairs and ensuring that the annual day of panels ran smoothly. Anne's gift to all of us has been an ongoing forum for feminist issues and discussions of global art and art history. Brava Anne! to read more about Anne Swartz..... |

TFAP@CAA

College Art Association (CAA) has been a Founding Program partner of The Feminist Art Project since its inception in 2005. CAA hosts conference sessions and special events originating from The Feminist Art Project, as well as from CAA’s membership, that center on women’s aesthetic and intellectual impact on the cultural record.
In 2008, the CAA Committee on Women in the Arts established a Distinguished Feminist Award, which honors a person who, through his or her art, scholarship, or advocacy, has advanced the cause of equality for women in the arts. The award was given for the first time in 2009 to the Guerrilla Girls.
We are grateful for CAA's generosity in providing meeting rooms, publicity, technical support, and assistance that gives greater visibility throughout the conference week to women artists, feminist concerns and supports the mission of The Feminist Art Project. For more information about CAA.....
