| Description: | A birthday gala and fundraiser to celebrate the life and work of "City of Los Angeles Living Cultural Treasure" Rachel Rosenthal is set for Saturday November 7th, 2009 from 7pm to 11pm at Track 16 Gallery. In honor of her 83 years, the event will feature a silent auction of 83 art works by a stellar group of artists. Auction proceeds to support Rachel Rosenthal Company's TOHUBOHU! Extreme Theatre Ensemble performances, student scholarships, visiting artist stipends. The centerpiece of the event is a silent auction of 83 abstract, conceptual, and representational "portraits" of Rosenthal in a diverse range of media by exceptional established and emerging artists including a number of art world legends such as Robert Rauschenberg, Eleanor Antin, Lita Albuqueque, Judy Baca, John Baldessari, Llyn Foulkes, George Herms, Mike Kelley, Martin Kersels, Ed Moses, Lee Mullican, Betye Saar, Masami Teraoka, Patssi Valdez, and June Wayne.
