Description: MaryBeth Edelson discusses her wide ranging work in the context of today's global feminist art movement at Brooklyn Museum, Saturday, November 10, at 2pm. Emphasis will be on viewing Edelson's exhilarating current art projects which have been seen in Europe, but not in NYC, as well as a fresh look at her 30 year retrospective recently shown in Sweden and Zurich. She will also speak about ways in which the collective spirit of 70s feminism(s) manifests today via collaborations, community based projects and empowering artists with the use of contracts and other tools to level imbalances in the art world that disadvantage artists. Tickets for all events are free with museum admission. Seating is limited; tickets are distributed on first come basis on the day of the screening.
