The Institute for Women and Art (IWA) is seeking women and transgender artists working with technology, gender, and feminism for an exciting opportunity to participate in an online directory and film festival. The directory and film festival are part of

Momentum: Women/Art/Technology, an exploration into the intersection of technology, art practice and feminism. The project presents innovative uses of technology utilized and advanced by women and transgender artists through exhibitions, symposia, film screenings, and public discussions. Since 2011, Momentum artists have challenged gender-biased notions of who employs technology and showcased women artists' sustained ability to break new ground in uncharted artistic realms.

Momentum concludes with the launch of the Momentum Directory, a networking gateway linking the public to women and transgender artists who embrace varied technologies in their artistic production, and other arts professionals who engage in critical explorations in the field of gender, feminism, art, and technology.  Information about individuals, such as artists, authors, art historians, curators, educators, and technologists will be included in the directory, as well as information about organizations and resources relating to technology and gender. Visitors to the directory will be able to link to participants' websites, giving equal access to emerging, mid-career, and established professionals, thus creating a connection between them across geographic, economic, and generational boundaries.  The directory is currently on view on the IWA website and will remain up in perpetuity as part of our permanent archive. There is no submission deadline for the Momentum Directory. The Institute for Women and Art is currently accepting submissions for both the Momentum Directory.
