HOW TO PARTICIPATE

We invite you to join us during July 24-30 to ensure that women artists are included in the historical record by adding events to the TFAP Calendar Archive! During the Add-a-Thon week we hope to add 1,000 new entries to the calendar archive! The Feminist Art Project Calendar Archive is the only comprehensive, searchable, virtual and physical collection of contemporary feminist art activities across varying media and from all over the world. And you can be a part of it too!

WHAT TO POST

We are looking for new listings to add from 2005 onward such as exhibitions, films, lectures, performances, publications, classes, etc., in or about all visual art media with feminist art content, feminist intent, or work by any individual woman or women of all gender expressions. So dig through your files for past, current, and future events! You can list your or your institution's activities, or be an feminist archivist-activist by picking a smaller institution in your community to focus on, or a large university or museum...the sky is the limit! The more information we can gather the better. (Please keep in mind, this is not an artists registry.)

WE WANT YOUR STUFF!

In addition to adding your events to the calendar during the TFAP Add-a-Thon Week, we invite you to send us materials for inclusion in The Feminist Art Project Archive. TFAP needs catalogs, announcements, and other materials that mirror the Calendar Archive listings that you post. They will be included in the Miriam Schapiro Archives at Special Collections and University Archives (Rutgers Libraries) where the TFAP Archive is housed. It is vital for us to continue to contribute to this archive to ensure that the activities of women artists are included in the historical record, creating a key resource for researchers and scholars who will be studying the feminist art movement in the future.

Suggested materials include (but are not limited to) postcards, catalogs, announcements, press clippings, newspapers, magazines, print-outs of online articles, memorabilia, give-away items, or any other materials that document the event. Mail materials to:

The Feminist Art Project Archives
Center for Women in the Arts and Humanities, Rutgers University
640 Bartholomew Road, #125A
Piscataway, NJ 08854

*If you have more materials than will fit into a 9x12" envelope, contact us for assistance at tfap@cwah.rutgers.edu or call 848-932-3726.
