Women in Independent Film, Video, and Digital Media

This course is a survey of major themes or issues in independent film, video, and digital media produced by women since the mid-1970s. The course pays special attention to the way women working in these genres challenge dominant ideologies of race, gender, and sexuality constructed in Hollywood film and other segments of the mass media.
